The flamenco dancer costume is the traditional outfit that the bailaora (flamenco dancer) originally wore.
The costume commonly worn in the past by gypsies was later generalized and popularized as a typical Andalusian costume in many local folk festivals.
The traditional outfit consists of shoes with high heels (for the taconeo) and a colorful dress (usually red, white or black, and often with large polka dots), long up to the ankle and adorned with ruffles (on the skirt, as well as sometimes on the sleeves).
